To established a connection to lxplus on windows vista os:

• open a file-browser & connect to CERN dfs where you can a lot of software.
  • type: \\CERN\dfs\ and hit ENTER. a login window will pop up.
  • username: “CERN\yourusername”

• goto: \\CERN\dfs\Applications\Hummingbird\Exceed2006-ssh\
  • double-click Exceed2006 (windows installer paket) to start installation

• goto: \\cern.ch\dfs\Applications\Hummingbird\CERN\2006\
  • double-click CERN settings 2006 (windows installer paket) to start installation

• connect to lxplus:
  • select: programs → Hummingbird Connectivity 2006 → CERN Predefined Connection → lxplus (KDE)

…on this way you should be able to work on lxplus from your windows os.
