You can configure python using a startup file. Python runs whatever file 
the environment variable ''$PYTHONSTARTUP'' points to.

create the file ''.pystartup''

historyPath = os.path.expanduser("~/.pyhistory")

    readline.write_history_file(historyPath)

atexit.register(save_history)
