How to check out a branch
If you want to check out a branch, you first have to check out the underlying tag, like:
getpack Phys/StrippingSelections v2r2
Then you have to switch to the corresponding branch:
svn switch svn+ssh://svn.cern.ch/reps/lhcb/Stripping/branches/Phys/StrippingSelections/v2r2b1
