Broken Bonds

Noise data available offline

The following data was processed using STNZSMonitor by Mark Tobin:

  • 2008 and 2009 data, files abailable in :
    lhcb@ckm:~/noise/VFS400_NOTP/rootFiles
  • 2010 data (until june) was taken with the TEST recipe, files in:
    lhcb@ckm:~/noise/TEST/rootFiles

How to reate a compilation of noise data:

  1. create a new directory e.g:
    lhcb@ckm:~/noise/symLinks
  2. create symbolic links to all the .root files you want to include in the plots. (The script createSymLinks.sh might be useful).

Noise plots

Plots were generated for the following sectors affected by broken bonds:
TELL1 Sector first observed Taken out noise distributions and noise vs.time
plots for broken channels (range)

3 3 Nov 08 still installed 1860-2048

  • Noise pattern (sector): For all sectors listed above the noise pattern (noise as a function of the channel number) of the given sector is plotted for each run listed in the directory symLinks. HV is on (250 V) and there are >=4k Evts used to compute the noise. Plots available:
    <code> lhcb@ckm:~/noise/symlinks/plots/NoisePlots_tTELL1NUMBER_sSECTRORNUMBER/
  • Plots for broken channels (and/or candidates): for all channels having bonds on the innermost bond row two plots (noise distribution, noise as a function of the time) were generated in the range indicated in the table above. Plots available:
     lhcb@ckm:~/noise/symLinks/plots/NoiseHisto_tTELL1NUMBER/

Count low noise channels

  • Plots (number of bad channels as function of time, for each TELL1, for all TT) available:
    lhcb@ckm:~/noise/plots/nBadChannels/>
