The reconstruction of tau pairs coming from very energetic objects (Z,H) can be affected from the fact that if the boost is high enough the two taus can be very collimated and the final decay products of one can enter the reconstruction (and/or isolation) con of the other. Then the standard identification techniques for hadronic taus, electrons and muon will fail. To avoid this, we remove the decay products of one tau from the reconstruction cone the other one. In particular for the semileptonic channels where a tau decays to an electron (or muon) and neutrinos and the other one decays to hadrons, we do a jet cleaning procedure.
Jet Cleaning Procedure
In each event, for every ak4PFjet every lepton passing the following requirement is removed from the jet constituent
then the new clean jet is given as input to the HPStauproducer.
