To established a connection to lxplus on windows vista os:

  * open a file-browser & connect to CERN dfs where you can a lot of software.
      * type: \\CERN\dfs\ and hit ENTER. a login window will pop up.
      * username: "CERN\yourusername"

  * goto: \\CERN\dfs\Applications\Hummingbird\Exceed2006-ssh\
      * double-click Exceed2006 (windows installer paket) to start installation

  *  goto: \\cern.ch\dfs\Applications\Hummingbird\CERN\2006\
      * double-click CERN settings 2006 (windows installer paket) to start installation

  * connect to lxplus:
      * select: programs -> Hummingbird Connectivity 2006 -> CERN Predefined Connection -> lxplus (KDE)

...on this way you should be able to work on lxplus from your windows os.
